Sorry for the late notice guys, i've only just recently found out myself. The Queer space and Womyns Space will be closed from tomorrow till next Feb.
Property services are finally doing the renovations that they promised so they are moving us out till they are done.
So we'll have a nice new room waiting for us when we return next year! happy

Just renovations... a permanent wall between us and the womyn, an updated kitchen area, and some benches along a wall for studying

It should be finished by February 2009... that said, it has taken Property Services 10 months to do anything related to renovating... so we're not holding our breath...

The Whole Student Union Council Precinct is being rebuilt over the Summer Holidays, I would very much expect it will be finished on time for Orientation.

Plus there is the added benefit that RMIT Union gets the old Student Union office area, yay

To be brutally honest, I'd be surprised if you guys still have a queer space once the renovations are complete.

I have full confidence. RMIT is extremely strict with its "Master Plan" of which the SUC Precinct is included, months of negotiations included a Queer Space and it is being built (IIRC) at no cost to the SUC.

I should probably say that if anyone has any suggestions for the lounge or the department for next year, get in touch with me. It'd be good to hear from people as to what they want, like events, or things for the lounge.
